Topic: UCXII doesn't work at 44100 under windows 11

Hi everybody,
greetings from Italy.
Today I've noticed a strange behaviour. I generally work at 48000 32 bit but I've some digital stuff which requires 44100 sample rate.
This morning I swapped the SR to 44100, set the project on cubase and worked normally... after lunch I found out no audio was played back from the daw and in the settings I couldn't find the rme driver.
I closed every application and rebooted the computer and the sound interface, nothing changed.

The curious fact was that changing the sample rate to any other sample rate such as 48000, 96000, 192000 bringed back the audio, only 44100 seemed not working and I really don't understand why...

My interface has SW version 34 and the latest driver installed, I also tried reinstalling the driver from scratch but nothing changed...

Fun fact, I tried to change the sample rate on that project to 48000 and I could select finally the rme asio driver, then the system allowed me to change again the sample rate to 44100 and I've got sound output back, even closing the project without saving it and opening back again with the 44100 original settings... anyway still no "windows" output with SR 44100...

Any hint to solve the issue?

Thank you!

Which Cubase version is that?
The selection of ASIO driver and sample rate should be independent of each other.

Regarding audio using the ASIO driver. There should be no such issues.

Regarding audio under Windows. Windows and most Windows applications do not support ASIO.
Check RME driver settings whether there is still a WDM device configured for the I/O port with your active monitors
and set this as speaker device.
Also check in Windows audio settings whether this WDM device acts as standard sound device.

Hi Ramses, thanks for your reply.
Cubase version is pro 11.

What I find odd is that if I start an app to play music (for example the embedded multimedia player) it will work correctly with all the sample rates but 44100, I experienced this swapping SR in real time through the RME driver settings.

I'l look for specifical settings related to 44100 SR in windows at this point...

Is it clear that only one sample rate can be in use?
Normal behavior is, that the application tells the driver which sample rate should be set.
Clock source in driver settings should be set to "internal".

Yeah, of course.
What I'm telling is that with no other apps running than multimedia player I can swap the SR through the RME driver and the only one not working is 44100.

Yes, clock source is set to internal. I set it to spdif only when I use the digital device (UAD OX) within cubase

Sorry, no idea.
If you have a 2nd SSD I would do a clean installation in parallel for testing.

Beat me to it. If you do have soundID then close it down (you will have to end it as it runs in the background. It’s on the taskbar the same place as the fireface settings) change sample rate and then start it up again.
