Topic: ufx+ and antelope 32channel MADI ground loop/hum

Hello everyone,
I use a ufx+ as front with with an Antelope Orion 32Gen2 connected via MADI as slave.
The Orion is 32 is connected to the 32 Tape IN/OUTS of my analog inline board.
When I want to record the Mix Bus back into the UFX, I get noise, which sounds like a ground loop and some static computer hiss sprinkled in. This happens with any UFX input, but if I print back into the Antelope everything is great and noise free.
I am using all balanced connections.
I have both interfaces and the board in the same AC circuit, and have played around with a lot of different combinations but cannot find the problem.
Is it common practice to not use MADI and interface audio circuits on a board?

The conclusion of this sentence would help a lot ;-)

Is it wired through a patchbay?
Have you tried going direct to rule out a patchbay grounding problem?

Best,
Frank

your analog inline board, it's a mixing console I guess, are there any mic input gains open.
Close all unused input gains fully. A open input gain can bleed-in noise everywhere.

Oops was running low on coffee;)

(…) if I print back into the Antelope instead the noise is completely goe. (in essence keeping all audio I/O in the board Antelope-only)

I have some inserts going to a patchbay, but completely detaching made no difference.
