Topic: Clicky transient with a delay on UFX+

hi all,

Firstly apologies, if I am starting a post that should be addressed elsewhere.

My music prod setup was working fine since more than 3 months and suddenly now I hear a transient after the original sound dies.

Setup:
macOS Mojave
RME UFX+ via Thunderbolt to iMac late 2015
Genelec 8361

- I re-installed the drivers TB v1.13 and flash updated, have already switched between monitors and cables to identify the issue
- It seems only hardware output 4,6 and 8 are causing this click
- I tried playing a kick sample first in Ableton and then on a website to isolate further the issue

The issue seems to be unfortunately in the hardware outputs mentioned.

Looking for a solution. Thanks for your responses.

Please contact your local distributor or RME support for help with hardware issues.

Did you find a solution? Was it a hardware issue? Mine just started doing this exact same thing, and i’m 2 months past my 2 year guarantee… sad

Re: Clicky transient with a delay on UFX+

It was a hardware issue. My local RME distributor had to send it back to Germany and they fixed it and performed quality checks etc. And I then received it around a month from then. But, mine was still in guarantee. You should try talking to your local distributor. There is a reason why they stopped producing UFX+ anymore.

Yes, there is a reason, and it had been thoroughly discussed here; no need for conspiracies.

Unfortunately, hardware errors can never be completely ruled out. However, that's certainly no reason to spread unfounded rumors.

The UFX+ could no longer be produced because Intel stopped supplying the Thunderbolt chips for it. This was also discussed in detail here on the forum.

Additionally, a product upgrade was inevitable. Among other things, the new UFX III now features faster AKM converters, the same ones found in the well-known ADI-2 Pro FS.
This was necessary to match the low converter latencies of already updated products like Babyface Pro FS and UCX II, which had meanwhile faster converters compared to the flagship interface UFX+.

Remember, the UFX+ was released much earlier in 2015, now almost nine years ago.

If the UFX+ would have had issues like you claim, then you would read it more often in the forum.
I just googled the UFX+ for fun and came across the product page on the Music Store website.
The UFX+ has been rated 80 times with 5 stars

I owned this fantastic unit myself and only sold it because I wanted the faster converters of the UFX III.

Honestly, I don't know who told you this or if you just made it up out of frustration, but this is complete nonsense.
