Topic: Gainstaging on RME UFXIII / Totalmix

Why is it that I can't bring the gain to +1, or 2 or 3 up to 7dB, but it jumps from 0 to +8dB and then it is incremental 1dB after the 8dB?
I didn't have issues with this before, but I now have a source that is a tad too loud at 8dB and at 0dB I'd like it to be 2-3dBs louder...

Thats normal. It is a "switch" between Line and Instrument Level.

See Chapter "19.2 Microphone / Line / Inst Front" in Manual.

Anyhow, just 2 Ideas:
1) You could modify this by Fader (of course :-))
2) You could use the Dynamics: Turn it on, leave all as is (default) - only raise the blue Gain Knob to +1,2 or 3 dB...

The problem is, I am "in between" lower and higher gain stage here for tracking.
And I cannot engage eq+dyn for tracking as it will mess up other tracks.

I did not mean to enable EQ+D for Record in the Driver Settings.
If you dont want the Dyn in the Recording Path, turn it on in TM in the corresponding Output, leave the Input as is.

But it is to less info (for me) to understand what you exactly mean.
