Topic: DSP Chip

Just out of curiosity as I'm a huge tech geek besides being an audio snob ;-)  What is the DSP chip inside the RME interfaces like UCX II and UFX III. I know RME use AKM converters for these and the Spartan 7 FPGA. I thought the FPGA did all the work but as far as I can understand TotalMix FX actually uses a dedicated DSP chip also for audio processing.

I don't dare opening my interface (also it voids the warranty), but I'm very curious, do some of you have images of the UCX II board? I can't find any on the web.

Re: DSP Chip

Doesn't matter which unit, they all use the same TI DSP version (if they have DSP). Some lower speed, some higher speed.
