Topic: drivers for Ubuntu (or other distros) planned ?

just that, an HDSP AES-32 user wanting to know if any driver besides Windows/MAC is in the RME's roadmap

Re: drivers for Ubuntu (or other distros) planned ?

RME does not develop drivers for Linux. They have given source code to ALSA, and all cards (except Firewire series) are already fully supported (afaik) in Linux.

Re: drivers for Ubuntu (or other distros) planned ?

According to the ALSA page on RME (http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … Vendor-RME) neither HDSPe MADI nor HDSP/HDSPe AES are supported. Also the new PCIe ADAT boards (HDSPe AIO and HDSPe RayDAT) are missing.

Could you please clarify this, because I'm also interested in using RME on Linux.

Thank you
Axel

Of course this is unofficial and community supported, so all at your own risk.

Hi Jeff,

thanks a lot.

Does this apply to the HDSPe AES also? I guess so (if the the HDSPe AES is the same as the HDSP AES except the physical PCI interface).

Cheers
