Hi, sent this question in an email to RME quite a while ago, but heard nothing back. You are my only hope (as the good movie goes).

I'm supposed to have a Babyface Pro FS, says so on the sticker on the underside of the box. 'Fireface USB Settings' calls it 'Babyface Pro', so does my macOS, both in the system report, in the ioreg output etc.

Trying to flash with the latest firmware, and the Flash Tool says - current revision 206, New revision 206.

According to firmware release notes it should be "Babyface Pro / Pro FS: 206 / 320", but the tool says 206 is the one I'm supposed to have (from the Pro, not the Pro FS?)

Current driver is 4.09, while I was trying to update to 4.14 (both kernelKit).

I can't now install the new DriverKit drivers, since the readme file says "Attention: [...] Babyface require a firmware update to [...]  226 , or higher, to enable the use of this DriverKit driver.". (note I'm exclusively using DriverKit model on a Mac, one of the main reasons I stick with RME).

At this point I am getting paranoid that I was somehow sold dodgy Pro version that's not actually Pro FS. Either that, or I am missing something obvious (like FS version not reporting itself as 'FS' at all and it should be like that), but still can't figure out why I can't upgrade the firmware and can't install new drivers.

I don't actually recall what these tools were saying on the older versions of macOS on this machine and whether it was Pro or Pro FS, it's currently running the latest macOS Sonoma 14.6.x, which was installed from scratch a few months ago, so no old drivers remained.
