I've had Fireface UCX for about ten years, and it's always worked well. In late August, it stopped working and I could not reinstall it on my old Imac os X 10.10. 5. Someone advised me to buy a new one, which I did, and I can't get it to work there either. Fireface USB settings seems to see the hardware and RME TotalMix FX: Fireface UCX is up and seems to work, but it is always disconnected! Why?

How can it be seems-to-work ?
Play music and send it to the headphones, can you hear the music or not ?
New versions of Totalmix can open without interface, it shows disconnected.
The Fireface Settings is showing a number of errors top right in the window ?
If there is a number of errors, that mean USB errors, your USB cable might be broken.
Did you change the unit into Class Compliant mode? See manual chapter 23.3. and 33.
Thank you very much for your help. I tried many things, for example I set the sound card to Class Compliant mode and then saw that it worked, but had no connection to TotalMix. Finally, after coming across a discussion here about the latest driver from RME not working with OS X Sonoma, I decided to download the 333-3 driver instead, and it works.
The previous driver was 4.14 ?
Sounds more like the UCX wasn't updated to the DK compatible firmware 49.
