I have the RME ADI-pro black edition DAC connected to a Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer connected
via coaxial in - RME, out Eversolo. When playing Roon (qoubuz) or just files the VU-meters work,
there is progress in the bar below, but no sound.
Is there something I had to configure in the RME device or another idea?
On the remote did you press the COAX button ?
In factory default setting connecting ADI-2 Pro to a Coax source ONLY immediately delivers sound.
(And don’t mix Out and In:
Eversolo Coax out goes to ADI-2 Coax in).
So, try a reset.
This enables ADI-2’s “Auto”-Mode:
While powering up, push and hold the VOL button (NOT the VOLUME dial) and Encoder 1, until you see the message: “Reset done“.
User Setups and EQ Presets are not deleted.
Or a full factory reset:
While powering up, push and hold the VOL button (NOT the VOLUME dial) and Encoder 1 and Encoder 2, until you see the message: “Reset done“.
All user Setups and EQ Presets are deleted.
Take notes before, or store them through the Remote App, if you want to keep some.

I will try it out tomorrow. Also, my RME device is no longer listed by Windows 11, while it will play files and Roon. Unistall the driver too?

This is true, DAC-Mode is the easiest to use, set:
SETUP / Options / Device Mode/DSD / Basic Mode: DAC
If in doubt, do the reset before.

What do you mean exactly by 'no longer listed'? Is the Settings dialog there? Wich driver is installed? Which firmware version is the unit on?

I diminished the buffer and sample rate size, and now it appears again in the sound setup config. It never disappeared from the device manager, though. Someone in another forum recommended to lower the sample rates for the RME to become visible again. Driver and firmware is up to date.
I also performed a reset, like KaiS said and then I set "internal player" as source and "opt/coax" as output with the Eversolo, now there is sound. I take it, that the internal DAC of the Eversolo is disabled now, when connected via coaxial to the Adi Pro, acting only as a transport, right? Many thanks to all.
Windows system audio goes up to 384 kHz. If you set the Pro to 768 kHz it might vanish.
