Topic: Recording via ADAT in Reaper ?

Hi, I'm using Babyface Pro. I can record Via ADAT in many Daws ( Pyramix; Fl Studio; MPC Studio ; Samplitude ; etc...) But in Reaper it's don't working. In Reaper I can record the analog inputs of the BabyFace, But not Via ADAT... I close Reaper and I can open any other Daw with the same config, but with Reaper... it don't work. If anybody have the tip...
Thank you soooo much !
Bernard

PS: I have posted this problem in the Reaper forum too.

Re: Recording via ADAT in Reaper ?

In Reaper for Windows, you need to set the range of inputs and outputs in the device config. Did you include the ADAT inputs?

with Reaper  impossible to record from ADAT of  Babyface.

But with other Daws, it's working fine.

I did lot of recording in Reaper with the Babyface (old blue babyface) via Adat Ada8200 all 8 channels all 44,1kHz, no problem.
And also sending out monitor mix to 4 headphones to the talents.

Make Total Reset in Totalmix, be sure Loopback is off on all output channels.
And be sure you can see a proper input signal in Totalmix in the hardware input channels Adat.
Connecting the toslink cable to the wrong port is happening sometimes. Look at Totalmix.

Also in Reaper in the track select diffrent input channels, go thru the numbers look for the right channel, it is possible the input number is shifted two number above.

Also try switch off "EQ for Record" in the Fireface USB Settings

Re: Recording via ADAT in Reaper ?

Totalmix looks fine you have a signal on input channel Adat 1 it should be in Reaper for recording.

Re: Recording via ADAT in Reaper ?

Please be more specific than "impossible". What exactly happens when you try? Any error message? Or does it appear to be running but there's no signal?
Turns out I also have no crystal ball... :-)

But with other Daws, it's working fine.

Thats why i would say: the reason for your problem can only be related with your reaper config.
