Topic: Fireface UFX III, Linux and MADI

Hello,

I have a problem with my fireface UXF III and linux.
This cart is Class Compliant. I can see it and it works for 34 inputs/ouptuts.
Unfortunately, I cannot use the madi 64 inputs/outputs.

I'm under Ubuntu Studio, kernel 6.8 generic.

In the audio controler, the rme fireface is known, and proposes 4 choices:
Multichannel Duplex
Multichannel outpout
Multichannel input
Pro audio

Multichannel output works, with 34 inputs/outpouts (analogiques(1/8), phone (9/10, 11/12), ADAT and 2 others)
Multichannel Duplex doesn't works. It shows 64 in/out but Ardour or another daw stop immediately when I plug it in a playbak output.
multichannel input, I don't test it
Pro audio, same problem as Duplex.

Is anyone tested the fireface UXF III under linux with MADI inputs/outputs ?

Thank for your help.

Manual page 100. There are three CC modes for 44.1/48 kHz, one is 34 channels. You need to find out how to change to the other modes on Linux (they are called Alternate Settings).

Re: Fireface UFX III, Linux and MADI

Hi,

Thank. I think its works on MAC OS.
Under Linux, I can't find the 3 modes.
Only one mode seems to works, multichannel outputs with 34 ins/outs.
I'm looking for the 94 channels mode.

If you have an idea....
