Topic: UFX III no (or intermittent) host light

I can't seem to get this interface to consistently connect to a computer (Mac). I have tried multiple cables and Macs (both Intel and Apple Silicon).

Occasionally, I will see the blue host light light up and then it works as it should. But most the time it is unrecognized by the computer(s) I've tried.

I'm running the latest firmware (3.14) and drivers on a Mac with Sonoma though I've also tried it on a Intel Mac mini running Monterey.

Is there a way to reset the interface?

Any ideas what I should do next?

Thank you.

Hello Pcalvert

The latest firmware version is 20.
Please check again when possible in the Settings Dialog

User manual page 52 23.3
Describes a factory reset thru the menu in the device. It will delete all user presets.
Switching On and OFF does also reset the unit without deleting user presets.

I have tried the above but there is still no host light. I've also tried swapping out USB cables and switching to a different computer. Still no change, still no host light.

What should I try next?

Re: UFX III no (or intermittent) host light

Is the HOST light ON immediately after installing the driver, then OFF after you restart the Mac? If so that sounds like the Apple Security blocked the RME driver. You have to "Allow" the driver after installation.

No, it remains off, no matter the state of the computer. I will try reinstalling the driver and report back.

Thank you for your reply.

That turns out to have been the problem! I reinstall the drivers and all is well. Thank you for your quick support!
