Topic: FF800 Limiter ABX

Hi. I got the funny feeling that limiter checkbox affect ALL inputs somehow.
I make a fair ABX blind tests and i can hear on my monitoring that printed file with activated limiter,
sound softly (in the bad way) and same input material without limiter checkbox got better transient clarity.

Funny that i record my console mixbus output to like rear panel inputs and IN THEORY this limiter checkbox don't must affect anything.

I make phase tests, in difference (input is tru analog so it's always random) i hear super thin and low level click on snare drum.
This is so low and subtle, but i think it is what i hear - that transient smearing with limiter on.

A'm i crazy? Maybe.
Please - correct me if i wrong. I have read manual and not the rookie.

Re: FF800 Limiter ABX

Forget to mention -  i try to clip input ADC (my genre is accept this for coloring mix) and try to record pretty decent signal without clipping. I can hear this happening both times.

The Linmiter checkbox can not control anything else than the Instrument input because the respective hardware only exists in that channel.

Thanks, i understand that. But i'm still have a funny fealing that something in code affected by this.
I will make more blind tests (i got veery precise monitoring) today with "fresh ears".

I open this thread mostly for people who maybe find the same sittuation.
