Topic: DriverKit driver for Babyface Pro does not work M3 MacBook Pro Sequoia

Hi
I first updated the firmware to 206 with an older Mac. Then installed the latest 4.16 DriverKit driver for my Babyface Pro but it will not be recognized. It shows up in "Fireface USB Settings" app but nothing seems to be working properly there. In Totalmix it does not appear at all.
Am I doing something wrong or was I to early to install Sequoia ?

Thanks

Did you allow the RME applications to run in the security settings within 30 minutes after the installation?

Umm...not sure what you mean here. Nothing shows up in "System Settings" -> "Privacy & Security" that I need to allow?

Re: DriverKit driver for Babyface Pro does not work M3 MacBook Pro Sequoia

I do think I have figured it out:

Go to "System Settings"-> "General" -> "Login Items & Extensions" -> find "Driver Extensions" where it says "de.rme-audio.dkusb" and click the information icon -> Turn on "Fireface USB Settings" and click Done.

Now it works

Believe it or not - nobody ever needed to do this. There must be something very special with this OS installation that it requires this action.

So, this switch is on for all others? That is strange...
It's not a Sequoia thing? I have not added any elevated security settings to this Mac that I know of.

Re: DriverKit driver for Babyface Pro does not work M3 MacBook Pro Sequoia

In Security & Privacy did you scroll all the way down ?
Some may overlook there is a allow button at the end.

I have Sequoia on the M1 Mac and the 4.16 driver works fine.

Yes I did. I am aware of that “Allow” button. But it was not there.

Here too, I don't have this Allow-button, it was there long ago in a previous driver, the system kept this setting and all following drivers just worked fine straight away, thru-out OS upgrades.
Thanks for sharing there is a switch in Login items and extensions, I never had a look there.

Well, I've had to do exactly this today.
I haven't used my Babyface Pro for a while. I've updated to Sequoia, and updated Flash and Driver but TotalMix wasn't working.
@runesig's instructions worked perfectly.
There was no Allow button in Privacy & Settings - even scrolling right to the bottom.

This may be the again stronger security features (!) of Sequoia. Talk is that even USB devices have to be allowed now. But usually if you update the system it knows the devices already and that's why we might not have seen that ourselves so far.

system preferences / General / Login items & extensions

scroll very down to second last

driverextensions
click the i button to open

In my computer, after upgrade to Sequoia, it was all enabled, there was nothing to do there, but it's a place to check if it is enabled correctly.
