Topic: Babyface Pro FS & Amplitube/GuitarRig & OWS Pro Headphones

Dear folks,
this is my first post and I just got my Babyface Pro FS as I wanted to achieve the following with minimal latency:

I want to connect my guitar to the lekato wireless system (one in the guitar the receiver is plugged in the instrument 3 port of the BabyFacePro FS). Then I want to use either Guitar Rig 6 or Amplitube 5 (newest updates) and hear „everything“ the guitar signal and things like youtube backing tracks in my ows pro bluetooth headphones under Windows 11.

My headphones work fine and I can hear youtube wirelessly just nicely. I also get all the signals as far as I understand the procedure but I do not hear the guitar in the headphones - not by using Guitar Rig and also not by using Amplitube all together with TotalMix

Amplitube setup:
I use the newest Asio-drivers of the Babyface Pro FS , and my input is the Analog 3 Channel where my guitar is connected.
For the output I have selected Analog 1 and Analog 2 of the Babyface Pro FS. When I pluck the strings the input signal and output signal changes accordingly so it registers that something is happening.

TotalMixSetup:
I have cranked up Instrument 3 and can see the guitar signal when I pluck the strings. In the middle section I also see AN 1/2 flashing up as well as in the hardware outputs AN 1/2 / PH3/4 flash as well. In Main I have routed the main output to AN1/2 and phones 1 to PH3/4. For the AN 1/2 I also activated Loopback.

I have connected the device via USB only I do not have a power supply at this time and TotalMix is in „total mode“ - I think this is how it is called.

Windows:
Input Babyface Pro FS Analog 1/2 and output OWS Pro Headphones.

I am still wrapping my head around the manual, I just hoped that someone has an idea or a similiar setup and got it working.

Thanks and happy Tuesday everyone.

Greetings,
Timo

Hi Timo
Glad you are here.
That is not working because you can only use one audio interface at the time in Windows computer.
The bluetooth headphone is it's own audio-interface.
You have to connect a cabled headphone to the headphone socket of the Babyface or use a newer Mac computer.

Hi Waedi,
thanks for the quick reply - that is a bummer. I still have an older Mac Mini - would that work - or if could I also install a VM with linux to achieve my goal?
Greetings,
Timo

With Linux I have no idea.

The Mac mini should be possible.

you have to do some preparation trick in the MacOS Audio-Midi-Setup
create an aggregate device with the babyface and the bluetooth headphone included.
The headphone as input device and Babyface as input device.
no guarantee for that it works, just try and play around with the features and settings in the Audio-Midi-Settings.
in the macOS system preferences / Audio / device : select the aggregate device.

Thank you , I just stumbled on a website claiming it should be possible to have two outputs with Windows 11:

Would that solve the issue - I just wanted to make sure that it doesnt before I setup a new system from scratch.

No that will not work. Although not fully recommended I would try asio4all. There you can set it up how you want it and then in your guitar program choose asio4all as the driver.

You will get lower latency for sure with a wired headphones, since there is always extra latency in bluetooth and rme asio drivers are the best for low latency.
