Topic: interfaces feature comparison table?

Hi,

I currently use ADI-2 Pro FS and my most used feature is to toggle between speakers and headphones.

Looking into option for multichannel output device with TMFX, and even some manuals like Madiface XT II lists front panel button remap, it does not say what are the options..

Is there a table of supported features like this one somewhere, so I can choose properly?

Also curious how would I assign this toggle to work with speaker setups between 8 to 32ch.

Another feature list thing would be, how many channels of room eq does each interface support?

Many thanks.

You can use TM FX snapshots for that and the ARC USB if you want to have it at your fingertips by pushing a button.

The ADI-2 Pro FS you can easily integrate into your setup with a recording interface, see my blog article:

The key remapping you can still use at the front of the ADI-2 Pro to toggle between monitors and headphones which are connected to the ADI-2 Pro.

You can even make a little routing "trickery" to switch by using TM FX / ARC USB (and not remapping front key of ADI-2 Pro):

Regarding number of supported channels for RoomEQ:
on an UFX III 20 channels are reported which load the DSP to approx 40%.

More Room EQ's I could not activate. I assume the rationale behind this is
a) to reserve DSP resources for other EQ, Dynamics, Reverbs/Echo
b) that 20ch should be more than enough for a usual setup

Side note: I read the maximum for a Dolby Atmos is 34.1 individually rendered channels, well but who has such a setup.

Re: interfaces feature comparison table?

my main question still stands:
Where can I find list of button remap features for each interface?

this information is not included in MC's xlsx table (which i thing could be in google sheets instead, to be easily upgradable and accessible without uploading and downloading it)

features of interest are:
speaker/headphone toggle function
mono
dim
blackout

- - - - -

systems i encounter are sometimes quite more than 20ch ambisonics rigs, so it would be preferable to use full potential of FPGA inside particular device, even at the cost of not having 9 bands of Room EQ per channel

using large format multichannel systems you don't usually care about computing power left for input eq and compression

however in similar manner i'm missing at least 2 input Compressors on Babyface Pro FS

hope these kind of processing power limitations can be avoided in future firmware releases

Probably more in future hardware releases…

And I agree, more Room EQs on the hardware outputs would be really useful for ambisonics and wave field synthesis setups, granted a commercially not so widely spread usecase. But especially with such high channel count interfaces like the new Madiface XT II a more powerful dsp would be nice.
With the current room eq limited to 20 channels, there is no need to upgrade from the old XT for us.
