Topic: 12Mic "No Response" Error in TMFX

Hello, I just purchased a 12Mic unit this week and trying to get TotalMix FX Version 1.97 Beta to connect and manage it. I followed the guidance I found in this forum ie: Options - Settings - Aux Devices but I get a "no response" error message in that screen.

I'm using ADAT to connect the 12mic to my UFX III.

In Aux Devices, I have ADAT Input 1-8 with 12Mic 1-4 as device 1, and 5-8 as device 2. Then another entry with ADAT 9-16 for 12Mic 9-12.

TotalMix FX then shows the changes to ADAT 1-12 with the gain controls etc.. but does not actually control the 12Mic.

The 12Mic is connected to my Network via Ethernet in the Primary AVB RJ45 port. It is NOT connected to my M2 MacBook Air via USB. I don't have any more USB ports available right now.

I can use Safari pointed at 12mic.local web address and the Webremote comes up no problem and I can control it that way. But, would rather control it in Total Mix FX v1.97.

Thank you for your assistance.

Adat connection can not control the 12Mic, it has to be connected over Madi, get a Madi optical cable.

Ah ? ok Thank you so much for the quick reply. I will have to purchase the Fiber module as the 12Mic only has Coax by default. Ah well, what's another $400 dollars after shelling out $4000 LOL.

Thanks again.

Re: 12Mic "No Response" Error in TMFX

Then use two BNC cable that should work too.
Sorry I thought every 12Mic comes with Madi optical connector.

It has a slot for it, but it does not have the module installed, that is an extra add on purchase. I already have 2 X FerroFish Pulse 16 units and they are connected via Fiber to my UFX III, so I will have to get the fiber adapter.

Cheers

When the Ferrofishs are connected thru fiber, the BNCs on the UFX are still free ?
Then using two BNC cables is much cheaper. But adding the fiber module to the 12Mic is a good idea anyway.

I would say yes, but I was under the impression that it's one or the other, not both connections at the same time. I went with Fiber because the Pulse 16 MX are Fiber only, no Coax. I have 2 Pulse 16 MX and thinking of adding a third one for a total capacity of 48 MADI channels.

Re: 12Mic "No Response" Error in TMFX

You are right.

You can select MADI input optical or BNC or both (split the channels 32 optical 32 BNC)

Then you build daisy-chain connection and use all devices via optical connection.
