Topic: USB Splitter Cable Into ADI-2 FS Pro BE?

I have the RME ADI-2 FS Pro BE, into which I run (via USB) a two channel preamp for recording music. The ADI-2 FS Pro has one USB port. My question: if I plugged in a USB splitter cable, could I then run two separate dual channel preamps into the ADI-2 FS Pro?

My guess is that this won’t work. But it doesn’t hurt to ask.

No way, not even one would work I think.

And how do you intend to connect ADI-2 Pro to the recording host / DAW (computer), which at best would be done by USB?

Check if the preamps have AES, Optical or Coax digital outs.
These fit into ADI-2 Pro.

You can even plug one preamp’s analog out into ADI-2 Pro’s analog in, and benefit from ADI-2’s superb AD-conversion.

In ADI-2 Pro’s USB mode / Class Compliant Multi-channel mode (manual page 40) you can record 3 inputs simultaneously.

Yeesh, mine was a dumb idea. I just realized—as you pointed out—that I had my inputs mixed up. Well, at least I’m in the running for posting the dumbest question of the year on this forum. I’ve heard that first prize for this contest is a trip to Dämlichstadt. I’ve never been to Germany, so that would be cool.
