Topic: UCX II isn't recognised by PC

Hi, I recently bought a UCX II used in "new conditions" but my PC doesn't recognise the device at all. I installed the newest driver and also tried a flash but nothing works. The UCX II isn't even showing up in the device manager. On a other PC it just says Code 43 "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request failed)". I tried different USB ports and cables, didn't help. I'm on windows 10.

I also contacted the support, but so far, they couldn't help me.

Re: UCX II isn't recognised by PC

Is it possible the device is in CC-mode ? If so, switch it to normal-mode.

From page 97 in the user manual :

Activation of the Class Compliant mode
Remove USB cable from the UCX II. Press SETUP/REV so that the page Options is shown in the
display.
Turn the encoder until Hardware/Diagnosis appears in the display. Pushing the encoder the knob
symbol changes into a double arrow symbol. Now turn the encoder to move the cursor vertically
through the menu page. Scroll down to the entry CC Mode. Press the encoder again to change
back to the knob symbol, then turn the encoder to select On. The unit now reboots. After that the
field USB in the level meter screen shows CC.

Re: UCX II isn't recognised by PC

waedi,
although it would be in cc mode, it should be visible in device manager.

aschmitz647,
Code 43 "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request failed)" -> Faulty USB communication. Win cannot get the information from the device.
Check USB Port and your Cable connection again. Remove any hubs, if used. remove any other devices except keyboard and mouse. Or just google for your error - there are a lot of tips how to handle with that.

Re: UCX II isn't recognised by PC

ok, I thought this unknown device is caused by CC-mode as the user manual says Windows can't use CC-mode.

It's definitely not in CC mode, I also checked that.

It was the only device on the PC that gave the code 43 error, on my own there's just a midi keyboard connected via USB. I checked 3 Cables and multiple Ports, including USB 2 USB 3 and a power USB port. Still no device showing up.

Re: UCX II isn't recognised by PC

Come on, did you search via google for the error? Seems not?

Most results lead to either physical connection, wrong settings in BIOS, old (buggy) BIOS, Energy settings or Problems with chipset/usb controller related drivers.. Tried another PC?

-> unclear what you mean with that.
