Topic: FIREFACE UC problem

Hello, my setup is on windows 10, I got my RME Fireface UC connected through ADAT with the ADI 2 for outputs.
Yesterday I was working and everything was fine with the sound. But today I open my computer like everyday and the Fireface don't light the green LED and no sound coming out. But it is recognised by my computer and TotalMix. Everything looks normal from the software POV. I verified the connections, reinstalled the driver but still no output.
When I deplug the USBcable, the red Host LED lights up but when I plug it, it lights out and nothing.
The ADAT connection is working it seems the problem comes from the Fireface UC.
Has anyone have advice for this problem? I didnt find similar problem in my researchs.

How about cable-loopback test, Adat cable from UC output to UC input and see in Totalmix if the outgoing signal returns on the Adat input correctly ?

When I do that the ADAT LED lights on the Fireface but I dont see no input meter in TotalMix.
Good to mention my phone output one the Fireface works perfectly

But you can see the signal in Totalmix in the hardware output channel Adat out ?
And returning thru cable loop is nothing arriving ?
Sure you have connected the toslink cable to the correct ports and the cable is working.
hold one end of that cable to the light and watch the other end, can you see the light coming thru the cable ?

In TotalMix the hardware output working is AN 1/2 and there is nothing Moving on hardware inputs.
Yes there is the red light coming out the cable and yes I plugged in the right places.

Try this : Open the Fireface Settings dialog and Switch optical output to be SPDIF, and then switch back to Adat.

Just tried and nothing happened.

To summarize :
The toslink cable is good, the light comes thru.
The output signal does not arrive in the input by the cable-loop test.

Conclusion :
Toslink input or output connector seems to be broken.

What I would do :
Conntact RME support and ask for repair

Can I just Switch the connections cables to spdif instead of ADAT?

Yes good idea try out, also with the RCA cable a cable-loop test will show if the signal flow is working.

Hi again I got the rca cable today and tried but same issue, the ADI 2 recognised the connections but no sound coming out.

I even test with 2 jack and there is an input on the ADI 2 but no output so the problem is on the ADI 2?

Ok big news, I tested on another computer and it works well I got sound on my speakers.
So when I plug back the fireface on my main PC, the digits on the device reset to 00 and no sound comes out.

So the problem is not the material but some software on my computer I guess.

I am happy to say to you that I resolved the problem.
I just had to change the WDM device to 9 in the option settings and the output appeared on my settings.
