Topic: Baby Face Pro fs with iPad pro

How do I get the side 1/4 inch jacks on the baby face pro fs to register in my daw (Logic Pro for iPad)?

I can hear them in my headphones but I don’t know how to assign them to the channel one or channel two inputs in my daw so I can get the signal from them and record the track.

There are, and I’m being very serious, zero up to date videos on using this unit with a newer iPad Pro on YouTube.

If I can’t get an answer it’s no problems I’ll return the product and get something else. Thought I’d give this a shot before I take it back. Thanks y’all.

Re: Baby Face Pro fs with iPad pro

I remember long ago there was something about iPad and it needed multitrack input option switched ON in the audio preferences.
Not sure if this is still the same in newer iPads.

You can not directly assign inputs 3/4 to 1/2. Is your DAW unable to record from 3/4?
You could route the channels to outputs 1/2 and apply loopback otherwise.
This isn't a matter of whether your iPad is old or new, there are no fundamental changes that would require new videos.

by reading the Logic Pro iPad manual. Chapter Multichannel audio devices and mirroring should help:
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/l … 492/ipados

how to assign them to the channel one or channel two inputs in my daw

It might help to know that the side 1/4-inch jack inputs of the Babyface Pro FS are Inputs 3 and 4, not 1 and 2? The front microphone inputs are actually Inputs 1 and 2.

And according to  BF Pro FS manual chapter 33.1 Class Compliant Mode: 8 Input Channels are possible (maybe you have to enable Multichannel in TM for iPad App for this)

The manual says that 12 channels are possible if the app used supports that. And usually there is no configuration necessary in TM FX for iPad for this to work.

Re: Baby Face Pro fs with iPad pro

Yes correct. I overlooked that 8 channels are mentioned for certain Apps only.

Maybe To add: Logic Pro for iPad as mentioned in post#1 definitely supports selecting any of presented inputs by the unit (tested with FF802).
