Topic: FF400 get disconnected with OCLP Sonoma suddenly after working fine

Hi,
I recently succesfully installed sonoma 14.7.1 on my macmini 2102 with OCLP, everything works fine except for my RME Fireface400 firewire card.

I installed latest driver and authorized it in privacy settings.

Audio card worked perfect for a whole day long, then, the day after, when I turned on again my Mac it began to get disconnected with red host led turned on

Card works perfectly with High Sierra on another Mac

II actually tried reinstalling drivers several times, I tried to re-authorize too using kmutil trigger-panic-medic but nothing of this helped.

Can I try anything else? Please help!!!

Thanks a lot. Regards. Mx.

Re: FF400 get disconnected with OCLP Sonoma suddenly after working fine

Thanks a lot for your answer.

So it seems there is no solution.

Anyway it seems to be a driver related issue because audio card is connected, host led is off, and it works fine until Fireface Settings and Total Mix start, then the card get disconnected and host led turns on.

Thanks again. Regards. Mx.

If connected to external power supply, try another one...

Re: FF400 get disconnected with OCLP Sonoma suddenly after working fine

Seems your Problem is more related with the combination of firewire drivers/kexts (came with OpenCore Legacy Patcher)?
Tried the latest OCLP version and retrigger the post install patches?
I assume you mean your MacMini 2012

Re: FF400 get disconnected with OCLP Sonoma suddenly after working fine

Yes, I mean Mac Mini 2012.

I'm using latest version of OCLP, I,retriggered post install patches many times.

OCLP doesn't have FireWire drivers, they are RME's official.

I also noticed that audio card works fine when I create a new User/Profile, even rebooting, but if I leave the computer turned off for a night and turn it on the day after, then the audio card gets disconnected again...

Thanks a lot for your help.

Ops...you meant the firewire bus driver... sorry I misunderstood...

So, do you think I can modify something in OCLP in order to make it work?

Thank you.

I am not an OCLP expert. But it looks like its rather related with your System and/or OCLP installation than with the official RME drivers, as they work fine for other FF400/800 users on official Sonoma/Sequoia supported Macs.

Did you check that your FF400 has a stable FW Connection? And stable Power (as Daniel already posted in #4)?

And did you read the thread, MC pointed in #2 to? Especially this: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 08#p220008

So, it would make more sense to open an issue or a discussion on github in the OCLP repo for your problem.

Good luck.

OK, thanks to everyone I will try.

The very strange thing is that if I don't load Fireface Settings or Totalmix everything work fine...
