Topic: HELP : UFX III not recognised on Sanoma if not turned on after reboot

Hi,
Had to upgrade a MBP M1pro from Monterey to Sanoma for the new version of Logic.
Installed all the latest driver (kernel version) and firmware. All works very well but I need to turn off and on my UFX III to have it recognised in the Mac ...
Any ideas what I missed ?
Did a second re-install with AllowApps turn on ( a magic tool to block Apple security ) but it didn't change anything.
I usually reboot my Mac once in the studio with everything connected to have a clean start.

Weird situation...

Any ideas ?

regards,

Chris

Would be interesting if the DK-driver has the same issue, I guess it is a KEXT issue.

Re: HELP : UFX III not recognised on Sanoma if not turned on after reboot

"UFX III not recognised ... if not turned on after reboot" -> UFXIII is off and you reboot?  -> then you turn it on?
I don't understand this, at all: "but I need to turn off and on my UFX III to have it recognised in the Mac" -> so, is it on or off??

Anyhow, maybe worth to try set it to a fixed Interface Mode (from Auto to either USB3 or USB2). See chapter 5.2.Quick Start in manual.

Which cable are you using? Are you using an Hub? Try also the USB-A to USB-B cable that came with the UFXIII with a passive adapter without an hub.

Thanks for your answers !

Will try but haven't found anything yet in the full latest mannual ...

I've been using it for 9 months with the original USB-C cable directly in one of the MBP input on Monterey. Never had a problem.
It's just since the update to Sonoma. I boot my Mac with the interface turned on and it's not recognised.
Only solution is turning the UFX III on once de Mac is up and running which is not normal.
Bu then, everything works perfectly. It's a pain since I have Digicheck in the startup complaining there is no interface ... (I've taken it out of my boot sequence too)
Any ideas welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Re: HELP : UFX III not recognised on Sanoma if not turned on after reboot

great !!!
It's all the latest drivers (kernel) and tonight, it just worked as usual ?
two days weirdness and just magic today so all good !
Didn't touch anything, same USB port, same cable, same start up ritual ...
Have no clue what happened ...
thanks for your help !
Remember not to upgrade anything if it works for you ! I was just after the fonction of the Logic mixer being more flexible in the latest version.
ps : I had to redo my aggregate devices for protools after the upgrade of the all RME and other interface I use and Sonoma upgrade.
