Topic: Same faders in different fader groups?

Hi.
Sorry if this has been answered before.. or if I'm being dim... but I can't seem to add the same fader to multiple fader groups in totalmix. Is this possible? I have a fader group that controls 12 outputs for Atmos, but I also want a separate fader group for 2.1 but cannot seem to add the stereo and sub outputs used in the other group. If I remove them from the first I can then add them to the second group....
Is this a shortcoming of the system or am I missing something...?

Thanks in advance to anybody that can help.

Re: Same faders in different fader groups?

It is something fully logical. If they could be in multiple groups every such group would destroy the fader settings in the other group. I have no clue how that should work...

Re: Same faders in different fader groups?

OK, thanks. Doesn't seem that weird to me to be able to have multiple fader groups that could be used separately. It would be very useful to have different snapshots with different fader groups to be used in different situations. They need not overwrite each other if used within different snapshots.... But if it's not possible that's good to know. Much appreciated. I will look to do it using alternative 3rd party software. Ginger Audio Sphere most likely.

Re: Same faders in different fader groups?

With the function Workspace quick select you can easy flip between workspaces (it is 30 workspaces possible), each workspace can have your different fader-group. No problem.
Make sure your fader positions are low, not full power loud !

Ah. Now we are talking... That could work.. I'll give it a go. Thanks so much...

Re: Same faders in different fader groups?

In case it's of any interest. I resolved this in the end, not with different workspaces, as I wanted to be able to flick between fader groups with the ARC controller. By the wonders of Totalmix routing options, I was able to re-route the true hardware outputs and levels via redundant software outputs.. Works a treat now.
