Topic: Finder Playing back 48k Files at Wrong speed/pitch

Hi, kinda urgent on this one...

When working in Logic at 48K, if I go to Finder to preview an audio track (via space bar) they play back at the wrong speed/pitch. This must be avoidable, is there a conflict? Never had this before!

FF802FS via Mac Studio, Logic 11

THANKS!

Re: Finder Playing back 48k Files at Wrong speed/pitch

In the Audio-Midi-Setup the samplerate of the system is visible and selectable.
I just did a test with three files, the same audio at different SR, 48, 96, 192.
All three play fine from Finder at all different SR settings. Mac onboard loudspeakers.

You may try reboot the computer.

Many thanks for looking at this and responding. Reboot didn't help.

Audio MIDI setup looks fine. The Finder files are set to play through the RME not onboard speakers.

I will say it doesn't seem to happen every time but I can't see a pattern yet.

Will keep an eye on it but I'm very busy to diagnose. Thanks!

You may try with the RME disconnected

Re: Finder Playing back 48k Files at Wrong speed/pitch

I think this is a Mac thing and started showing up (for me) maybe a year ago. It's not the rme, it does it on couple computers using UA interfaces too. Usually switching the interface to 44.1 and then back to 48 seems to work for me. Also, not just finder preview, but YouTube videos too.
