Topic: Fireface UFX II as MIDI Clock master

Hi,

since the Fireface UFX II has such a great jitter-immune, super-stable digital clock (SteadyClock) I wonder if this could be used as a stable MIDI Clock master in my keyboard rig.

Is this feature available or possible to implement?

It would help to reduce the complexity of my keyboard rig and the need to buy jet another device to do the job.

Converter clock (steady clock) and Midi clock is complete different things.
No, the UFX can't generate a Midi clock, it can forward a Midi clock signal from the computer to your Midi gear.

For a stable Midi-jungle you will end up connecting a Midi-clock device.

Thanks waedi. I was afraid this would be the case. Was hoping that having a stable clock in the rme device would at least in principle allow to generate a stable midi clock from that source.

So in order to ensure tempo synchronization across MIDI devices I need to get a separate midi clock master. Luckily Christmas is coming soon.
