Topic: USB ARC Settings: Arc and Function Keys?

Hi there,

Fireface UFX III (latest firmware and drivers)
ARC USB
Windows 11 (latest version)

Can someone please explain what the ARC USB settings page "Arc and Function Keys" is meant for? If I didn't overlook there's no description of it in the ARC USB manual.

The ARC has 15 buttons (keys) on the front.
The Settings let you customize the function of those, see page 4 in the user manual.

Did you refer to the second tab page of the ARC USB settings dialog named "ARC USB Settings" with options for "Keys 1-15"? I'm aware what this settings page is good for.

But my question was about the first settings tab page named "ARC and Function Keys" with options for "Prog A-D" and "Function Keys F4-F8". What are these settings meant for?

You are right and I have to corect, it was page 5 not 4 and the description of the first tab seems to be missing in the user manual.

"Prog A-D" -> You can remap the 4 HW Buttons on UFX III to define custom actions. For this, you have to enable this in the Units settings first. See chapter 5.5 in manual.

"Function Keys F4-F8" -> You can assign the F4-F8 Keys on your Keyboard to define custom actions.

Prog A-F varies with the respective interface. Older interfaces like the UFX which supported the ARC (no USB, not available anymore) will allow to select actions for that remote with 6 buttons and one encoder wheel.

Newer interfaces like the UFX III, which support the ARC USB, will allow to remap the 4 front keys instead.

These are functions typically described in the interface's manual - because they are interface specific.
