Topic: 12Mic Aggregate AVB Clock

Hi all,
Please let me know if there is a better option here.
I am running a UFXiii and connected in another recording room is a 12mic. I have connected the 12mic over AVB and created an aggregate device for Logic Pro. In Apple OS I have the "Drift correction" ticked for the 12mic AVB connection.
How do I get the 12mic AVB setup to lock to the UFXiii clock or at least the Logic clock? Do I need a physical connection or can the 12mic lock to an AVB clock? At the moment if I change logic's sample rate say from 48 to 96, the UFX changes but the 12mic still remains on 48. I'd like to add that in the 12mic Web controller, I have definitely got the clock source as AVB1. It is green but doesn't  follow when I change logic's sample rate

Re: 12Mic Aggregate AVB Clock

Why don't you connect via MADI? Less clock synch issues esp if you work with different sample rates.

Re: 12Mic Aggregate AVB Clock

The reason I can't is that the room wherein which I am recording the artists only has ethernet.
I can't get any other cables in there.

Understood, simply wanted to be sure that you need such a setup. But sorry, no idea, no experience in that field.

Ethernet RJ45 to BNC can be connected with adapters via XLR

Re: 12Mic Aggregate AVB Clock

@waedi - good joke. smile If it's not a joke, then please, no more advice on digital audio networks. AVB network cannot be converted with such cable as the signal is not MADI/AES3.

For Hylton, only option for you is to set sample rate manually in MAC's AudioMIDI app each time you change it. Best would be to keep same sample rate. Although, your two devices will not be in perfect sync. In reality, probably it does not matter as Logic will capture both devices in their respective correct sample rates.

Re: 12Mic Aggregate AVB Clock

Thanks all. I have been having great success just as an aggregate device. (Using same sample rate)
If I need 100% clock I just send a clock down the word clock into the 12mic. So far no problem.
