I have had a dream.  and Ive just woken up from this sleep.

I am looking to transfer midi streams over adat.
MIdi from madi thru 648 to 9652.  and sacrifice one of the bits in the channel to do so.

I know that this is possible as i can see the steindberg v-link application works over this conxn and also the connection to control the rme ad648 over madi (madi port 3) works across adat. So rme already uses this functionality somewhere in the drivers.

Put simply, we need more midi ports on these cards, and to have this functionality optional for some adat ports would be great.  Losing the small amount of headroom by sacrificing one bit is negligible.
