Can anyone confirm that it sounds good and rolls perfectly.

Re: Is it problem free to run rme ucx sound card on usb c port windows 11

USB (transfer of digital audio data) itself has no sound. From what I’ve read in this forum about RME, USB2 usually has no issues with chipsets.

When using a USB3 card/port, there are specific USB2 pins in the connector that link an USB2 interface to the "USB2 infrastructure" of the USB3 chipset.

To put it simply: it should not cause problems. Either you experience USB transport issues or not—most likely, you won’t. If there are USB transport errors (CRC errors), they are audible and visible in the driver settings. Make sure to keep the driver settings window open; otherwise, CRC checks won’t run.

I ran my bfp fs on usb C fine. I only stopped as I find the A port a lot more robust.

Fully agree! And I only bought a PCIe card with 4 USB-C ports last recently, to be able to better charge the akkus of my camera through USB-C.

For example FF UCX II is delivered with USB2 cable as well as with USB-c. And Babyface Pro FS as well comes with two USB cables.

Not when I bought my UCX II in 2021. hmm

In any case, as written above, USB-C is just a connector plug and by looking at it you don't know its capabilities. It's an effing mess.

I bought UCX II this week. Yes, it has the both USB cables, but it does not have printed manual. RME has stopped to include printed manuals... From one side I understand, but on the other side, it is handy to have manual on paper.

UCXII never came with printed manual. I printed the PDF into A5, but it soon got obsolete. I still use it as reference or bedside reading. Maybe I should make an upgraded edition.

Re: Is it problem free to run rme ucx sound card on usb c port windows 11

And what does RME itself say about usb c and functionality with older ucx that do not have an included usb c cable. Does their update support older sound cards like ucx if you get a usb c cable windows computer??? Anyone here who can answer...

The cable sound like nothing as it's just a cable for digital data. If it did have a "sound" it would be defect, if you can call crackle/pops/dropouts a "sound".

You asked about this in your first post in March so why don't you just try it or a similar cable? It doesn't have to be expensive at all.

The same cable made by Lindy is available on amazon.se and is sold by Amazon. Try it and return it if it doesn't work.

Re: Is it problem free to run rme ucx sound card on usb c port windows 11

I would say that whether it works well or not does not depend so much if one uses USB2 cable or USB-c cable. Chips used for given USB controller may play role and also SW installed, USB socket used, other USB devices used (the both inside computer and outside computer) and so on....
