Re: USB Flash Tool for UFX+ crashing on 15.1.1 Mac Mini M4pro

The name of the updater is : fut_usb_tb_mac.zip

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: USB Flash Tool for UFX+ crashing on 15.1.1 Mac Mini M4pro

I was following the instructions as found here:

------

1. Firmware version for DriverKit
Attention: Fireface UFX / UCX / UC / 802 and Babyface require a firmware update to versions UFX: 361, UCX: 49, UC: 127, 802 : 17 (111), Babyface: 226 , or higher, to enable the use of this DriverKit driver.
Link to firmware update tool:
https://www.rme-audio.de/downloads/fut_usb_mac.zip
While the firmware update tool would run on M1/2 machines, it needs a working driver. But the driver is not loaded if the firmware is not updated. So the interface firmware must be updated first, using a computer that runs the Kernel Extension driver, or a Windows computer.

------

The updater you suggest is not even opening, which is most probably the reason RME suggests this step before getting to that, unless I'm reading wrong, which is very possible btw.
thank you

Re: USB Flash Tool for UFX+ crashing on 15.1.1 Mac Mini M4pro

I updated the firmware on my UFX+ from my previous Mac.

Getting back to the new M4Pro:
"driver_usbdk_mac_417" apparently run the installation right as I see the device in the audio-midi setup and the icon in the application folder, however I don't see Totalmix.

Digicheck NG sees the audio card.

When I click on the icon in the menu bar it opens the folder where the installation file was originally (created by the .zip).

The installer puts TM FX in the Applications folder. Exit the icon in the dock and start TM FX via finder. Did you reboot and allow the driver as described here?

Re: USB Flash Tool for UFX+ crashing on 15.1.1 Mac Mini M4pro

yes,
it works now, the authorization routine is quite complex but certainly manageable.

While Total mix sees the UFX+ when connected via thunderbolt, it doesn't see it when via USB.

So one thing remains unclear: why I do see it in Digicheck NG and in my audio MIDI setup?

Re: USB Flash Tool for UFX+ crashing on 15.1.1 Mac Mini M4pro

TM FX basically is not a driver - it is a remote for the mixer and FX. So the interface is recognized and runs without it.

How do you suggest to connect my UFX+ via USB?
