Topic: Fireface UFX III: TotalMix can you keep i/p to o/p signal analogue?

Hi All

In the Fireface UFX III - Is TotalMix always routing signals in the digital domain?

I was wondering if I can send a mic-pre signal to an analogue input, route that to be recorded, and split the original signal and send them to analogue outputs but without the input signal going through an AD/DA process.

The latter bit is what I am wondering about. I'll assume depending on what you are doing the routing would be in the digital domain, but can you keep routing an input to an output purely analogue?

Thanks

No. Totalmix is fully in the digital domain.

Hi vinark

Thanks, I thought that might be the answer. The manual shows a schematic with no mention of AD/DA so I wondered if it could be done just in analogue.

I'm considering buying a digitally controlled analogue signal router so I can quickly repatch hardware.

Anyone already done this and found it worthwhile?
