Topic: FF800 not work with Big Sur but FF400 works fine.

Hi

I've recently bought a second hand FF800 to resize my studio. Until now I was working with a FF400.

My problem is: FF400 works fine. So, I understand that the driver version is OK. The FF800 has the HOST led right on and the computer doesn't recognize it.

I'm working with Big Sur 11.7.10. I also have the original Apple adapter from FW to Thunderbolt.

Anyone can help me?

I don't if it could be the flash update thing. I don't have an old Mac to update the firmware of the FF800. I have a laptop with Windows 10 but.. If I understand OK, i have to update the firmware with the MAC.app, not the Windows One.

You can use the Win FUT, the firmware is universal.
The FUT needs a working diver, the Win Laptop needs a Firewireport and the installed Win driver for the FF800.
Sure you did install the 341 driver on the BigSur Mac ?

If your 400 works and the 800 doesn't with the host light on, I'm afraid the 800 needs service. Probably FireWire damage.
