Topic: Help Needed: Digicheck Installation Issue on Windows 11 with Babyface

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for help with an issue I’ve encountered. A few years ago, I purchased an RME Babyface Pro FX and was using it on a Mac. I had no problems running Digicheck back then.

Recently, I switched to a PC running Windows 11 Home and am now working in DAW Reaper. A few days ago, I downloaded and installed Digicheck. While the installation seems to have completed successfully, I can’t figure out how to launch the program. I’ve spent quite a bit of time searching for it on my system, but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere.

I’ve reinstalled it three times, but nothing has changed. Could anyone guide me on how to resolve this issue?

I also tried searching for a solution here on the forum, but perhaps due to my limited knowledge of English, I wasn’t able to find a clear answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its in Program Files (x86) \RME at least here, but I use the old digicheck, not the ng version.

Unfortunately, there is no Digicheck program in this folder. Only TotalMix

I have Digicheck and Digicheck NG in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\RME\Digicheck5
C:\Program Files (x86)\RME\DigiCheck NG

And installer also has created a shortcuts in:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\RME

But TotalMix FX is in system folder:
C:\Windows\System32

gives an error (I suppose because I don't have these files or folders).

I dont know what you did, but same here, what vinark and kubrak told.

Maybe a step by step guide:
- Get the latest beta for Win from here: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 79#p228879
- extract the zip and install the msi
- After the installation you will see a "RME DigiCheck NG" Link on your Desktop.
- Click on it - and have fun

PS: A language-independent way if you want to see the location of the digicheck.exe in your explorer:
- Open your (file) explorer, copy-paste this into the address path field and hit enter:

%ProgramFiles(x86)%\RME\DigiCheck NG

Thank you very much! After I downloaded from here https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 79#p228879 and installed it, the program started. Strange.... before that I downloaded from the official site https://rme-audio.de/software.html and the program did not install.

The one from forum is different version (betaversion) than the one from official site (last release).

I do not know, just guess, the versions may also have, beside changes in the very program, changes in installation procedure.... But there may be many other reasons. Antivirus, user rights,  ......

Kubrak, the install procedure, destination locations, etc.. of 0.91 and 0.92 beta look similar. 
Probably some other reasons, SERZH MUSIC had before. But doesn't matter, main thing is - it works now...

Btw: I "pointed" SERZH MUSIC to the beta, because it has the (really cool) VU Meter feature. Works flawlessly on Win (and Mac) here for me.
And I did not read sth about any serious "show-stopper" reports from other users...
