Topic: Custom Sample rates on Digiface AVB

Is there any possible way to define custom sample rate lower than 44.1K?

Looking to use 8K. But someway to define ant custom sample rate would be great if the hardware allows.

Re: Custom Sample rates on Digiface AVB

There was never a demand for such low sample rates.
32 kHz is regarded as the lowest that makes sense according to Nyquist Theorem.
The sample rate must be at least twice the highest frequency you want to capture.
A 32 kHz sample rate allows for frequencies up to 16 kHz, which is sufficient for speech and basic audio tasks but inadequate for music production, as it cuts off frequencies above 16 kHz.
Lower than that? For what purpose?

Not possible.

Not part of the standards (AVB/MiLAN), Apple's AVB implementation, and not implemented in any AVB/MILAN hardware that I know of.

Re: Custom Sample rates on Digiface AVB

Low frequency application. Value needed is adequate for the purpose, it is already used in a Linux environment. But looking for ways to get the same AVB Data into windows environment as well. Cant share details due to company IP.

Thanks for quick responses. Was hoping there was some way to lower it, but I understand that the Digiface is adequate for what it was designed for, and that was not low frequencies.
