Topic: Raydat AES/EBU to SPDIF

Dear Musicians,
in short: I use a Raydat with 4x8 Adat-Interfaces. I don´t have enough inputs, so I add a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 Interface to the free SPDIF-Port. Works absolutely fine in both directions.

Now I think about adding a second Focusrite Saffire Pro Interface to the free AES/EBU port of the RayDat, to get 2 additional analog inputs/outputs.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Does a “handmade” adapter cable (XLR to RCA, RCA to XLR) work?

I don't want to try it out just like that, as I might destroy the SPDIF input of the Saffire.

Many thanks in advance

Should work fine and there's no risk of damage.

thanks a lot, I´ll give it a try...

Re: Raydat AES/EBU to SPDIF

RME manual usually provides optimal wiring of the XLR-cinch cable for given RME device. It is not the same for all devices.

So, the best is to have a look in the Raydat user guide.
