Topic: M-1620 Pro D and TotalMix? How?

Hello! I just purchased 3 M-1620 Pro Ds and don't see a way to download TotalMix for it, and I don't see a way to use the interface as a Windows interface. I also don't see reference to TotalMix in the manual. I hope I can use TotalMix with this and use it as a WDM device.......

Re: M-1620 Pro D and TotalMix? How?

The products page of the RME website has six categories where all products are listed.
One of the categories is Interfaces, those have Totalmix.
The M-1620 is listed under Converters, these are without Totalmix

When the M-1620 is connected to a Madi interface, then Totalmix will send and receive audio from and to the M-1620.
These signals uses the Madi channels in Totalmix, the driver of the Madi interface provides you with WDM.

Re: M-1620 Pro D and TotalMix? How?

Regarding WDM...
The Octamic XTC supported audio via USB, you could connect it directly to iPad and Windows in CC mode.

You do not necessarily need a recording interface with MADI support.
The M1620 Pro also has 4x ADAT I/O and supports AVB.
The M1620 Pro D additionally supports Dante.

So you can use at least
- 8 ports of M1620 Pro with any recording interface which has 1x ADAT I/O @single speed.
- 16/all ports with any recording interface which has 2x ADAT I/O @single speed
