Topic: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Basically I got the circular email on 'Digicheck NG', and downloaded the latest driver (on Windows) for my 'UCX II Fireface' usb.

Is this device compatible, as I cannot fathom how to open Digicheck NG, in the event the driver is compatible.

If compatibility isn't the issue, given the driver update, how do you actually go abouts opening Digicheck NG, as it would be quite nice to use it in conjunction with Ableton?

Many thanks naturally ...

Re: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Digicheck NG is a separate app that you need to download from the "Select Software" side on the downloads page. It's not part of the RME driver package.

Re: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Thanks Jeff, how do I get NG to report my computers global audio functioning?

Right-click into instrument (one of the analyzer tools) use input selection

Re: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Thanks, set NG to ASIO, but certain subcategorised analysis tools are not showing any GUI readings, whilst others are, what could be the reason for this?

You have to set the respective input channels for every instrument.

Re: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Apologies for the incessant questions, but is there some way to engage/select the global output (not induvidual instruments) for the respective overall reading funnelled through the different read outs? As I'm trying to play individual soft synths via Ableton (soloed within the DAW), in hope of getting a reading in all the various dispositional graphs/readouts, because I'm only getting a reading in some currently?

Re: Help the totally unversed in DigiCheck NG

Digicheck is monitoring audio channels of the interface.
From Ableton you send audio out to different channels.
The master out is just one stereo channel.
In Digicheck in the audio device setup you have to enable "add playback channels"
In the input selection scroll down to the playback channels and select that one from Ableton master.
Do this for every Instrument (Digicheck analyzer-instrument)
Select the playback channels of your soft synths (if you send their signal out to the interface)
Digicheck has no connection to Ableton it can't see the synths in there.
