Topic: MADIFX - no sound on cold boot

Hi,

Since a few months my trusty MADI FX has developed a strange little annoyance:
If I cold boot my PC in the morning it won't pass sound.

In TotalMix I see activity in the 2nd row (playback) but nothing in the bottom row (outputs). I have to wait a moment until Windows is done booting and loading drivers, shut down the computer (restart doesn't help) and do another cold boot. 19 out of 20 times that fixes it.

Tried reinstalling drivers but that didn't help.

Anyone else has had this?

TIA,
Herwig

Is the issue still there? Did you write a mail to RME support?

Can you test the card in another PCIe slot or with another computer?

I have just tested it in another PCIe-slot, makes no difference.
Unfortunately I don't have a second PCIe-slot-equipped computer nearby.

Also: if I cold-boot (and have no sound) then the DSP section of the card isn't active as well. Meaning: if I enable the Reverb I don't see a green percentage on the FX-wheel at the top right of the TotalMix window.

Windows 11,  Asus Prime X670-P, Ryzen 7950x, 64Gb DDR5 memory, Radeon 7800XT graphics card. I only have the last 2 PCIe slots available to test the RME card.

Thanks in advance,
Herwig
