Topic: I can't update the firmware on my Babyface to run on my Mac

I want to use it with my Mac (M3, Sequoia 15.2, Logic Pro 11.1.2), tech support told me I can only use a Windows based system with the RME driver for the Babyface installed on the PC in order to run the flash updater app for the firmware update and then I can update the driver on my Mac ......

I'm looking for a local resource in SoCal to update the firmware, any ideas?
Thanks

Who said so? You can also update the firmware on your Mac with the 3.x driver. After the update, you will also be able to install 4.x (Driverkit).

Jeff Petersen/Synthax inc (support for Babyface in USA off the RME website) was my source. The link you provided is in German. What is the USA support link for that Kit?

BTW - I currently have firmware v 223 w/  the 2.18 s/w driver and I'm on an M3 Mac running Sequoia 15.2 & Logic Pro 11.1.2.

Any help is much appreciated.

First link corrected (you could have just switched to English on top of the page), second one is correct...
I'm fairly sure he didn't say you can only do this on a PC, though...

It is much easier to change the firmware on a Windows computer - if available. On Mac you need to reduce system security, then install the Kernel Extension driver, flash firmware, set system security back, then install the DK driver. Quite cumbersome.

You are correct, he didn't recommend upgrading on a Mac due to complexity, I should have asked for the instructions.

That is cumbersome, but straight forward, thanks for your help.

Success, thank you.
