Topic: HDSP all virtual live in DAW dead

Hi all out there
User for many years, no problems up to now, maybe after bios was succesfully updated 15/01/25???
HDSP pci with ADI-8PRO on Cubase Pro 11. AMD Ryzen 7  2700X , latest bios 6232 09/2024, MB default setting

No virtual instruments or FX working. No sound, no meters in TotalMix or on Cubase
External instrument can be heard.  Meters on Totalmix OK, no meters on Cubase.
Seems like the whole "VST thing" is dead. Recording/playing of midi OK for external instrument.
Same behaviour with drivers 438 446,449, 450

With Reaper same behaviour plus the HDSP driver stops Reaper from playing audiotrack, cursor does not move.

Any thoughts on your side?? i am stuck sad
Grtz Lars

Re: HDSP all virtual live in DAW dead

Hi Lars,

maybe a contact problem for the card in PCIe socket?
Inspect contacts and perhaps rub carefully with an eraser or use another PCIe slot for a test.

BTW, there are several HDSP cards, which one exactly? 9652 as you mentioned in a previous posting?
May I suggest briefly describing your setup in the forum signature?
It is always helpful to know the products. Thank you!

Which card is this exactly? Please provide a screenshot of Totalmix and the settings dialog. What did you update, mainboard BIOS?

Not possible to insert jpg directly into the forum.
You have to use a public image online service like imgbb or imgur.
Open the link from the uploaded image in your browser, right-click the image and copy image-address.
Paste image-adress between the img tags in the forum post.
Edit :
Don't use dropbox, it is not visible for all users. Forum visitors with Safari will not see the image.

HDSP pci rev 108, actually two cards and six AD/DA devices over adat, totalmix in DAW-mode, i updated the motherboard succesfully to latest bios. The daws , Cubase and Reaper , work fine with other ASIO drivers. When the RME driver is selected the system shows the behaviour i discribed.
So, i concluded th rme driver(s) do not do the job. Please proof me wrong smile I use and love my rme gear for so many years

Re: HDSP all virtual live in DAW dead

You seem to use two HDSP 9652 (not HDSP PCI, that card needs a Digiface or Multiface to work).

It cannot be the driver as it worked before without change.

Card there but audio stopped means no interrupts. That again points to the BIOS update. Maybe there is a new setting to enable PCI in whatever way...

This doesn't seem to be working the way it should. It's supposed to only affect new users' first message, was hoping it would reduce spam a bit. Changed it again.
