Topic: Thinkpad T60 and Madiface. Experiences?

Hello,

since Apple dropped the expresscardslot the time for switching to windows platform has come for me. While i have ever used Thinkpads for private use i have no experience with audio recording on these machines.

I will switch from logic to cubase or nuendo and i want to use Windows Vista x64 (no, i don't want XP or Vista32 ;-) ).

The T60 Thinkpad i would like to buy has 1.67GHz Dualcore, 2GB Ram (can be upgraded) and a 7.200 HDD.

Task: Recording 64 channels stable

My current Macbook has 2.0GHz Dualcore and it's working nice with 64 channels. Is GHz Power an issue here anyway?

Does anybody have experiences with these machines?
