Topic: M-16 AD vs. M-32 AD heat generation

When comparing these two units, how much more heat does the M-32 AD generate over the M-16 AD considering it has twice the amout of channels and more watt consumtion?

I know there is a fan in the M-32 AD, but still..

Heat generation is an important factor in my project studio so i'm hoping for an answer as soon as possible so I can decide smile

I'm afraid I have no exact figures... But with the (quiet) fan, heat is no issue.

Ok, I'll try and ask in a different way.

How hot does the M-32 AD get compared to the Micstacy? I allready have the Micstacy.

I know the unit can take the heat, but my the temprature in my controll room gets very hot with all these heat generating units turned on. Air conditioning tends to make singers get bad throats...

Well, if the M-32 AD generates the same amount of heat like the Micstacy i'll be ok.
Would be nice with a comment from the RME crew, though....

It actually seems like the M-32 AD runs cooler then the Micstacy. Ha, nice!

First session with it tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Hello,

could you please tell me how loud/quiet (if possible in dbSPL) is the fan?
It looks very small in diameter so I guess it spins fast?

I intend to have M32 in control room and all other devices are passive cooled.

Will I be able to hear this unit's fan from 1m? or am I better of with 2x m16?

I'm sorry, I really don't have exact figures (nothing in the manual?), and I've never been near am M-32 in quiet surroundings, but a small fan doesn't necessarily have to move fast. Some slow, yet continuous air movement is better than none. I would assume the fan will make less noise than the average quiet PC.
Maybe MC will chime in with exact figures.

Don't have SPL, but the fan is really low noise and fully temparature controlled, means it normally does not run or only in low speed. It only runs at full speed in the Sahara's sunshine ;-)
