Topic: Logic and Totalmix monitor question

is this possible with Logic and a madicard:
in a punch-in situation we want to use Totalmix as input monitor (because of latency in logic) but in such a way that the musician doesn't hear himself playing until the punch-in comes.
In other words - can Logic control Totalmix so that it mutes the totalmix input channel from the musician until Logic goes into record ?

Re: Logic and Totalmix monitor question

I did not try it myself, but in Logic nearly everything can be defined to MIDI commands, and those can control TM (see manual). So basically that should be possible somehow.

Re: Logic and Totalmix monitor question

Thank's Matthias, I thought about this solution but that would involve moving a midipart and sizing it (and maybe alter it for different channels) each time there's a punch-in situation - and that's takes too much time in a stressed recording session. It has to be automated. I'm not too familiar with Logic (using Cubase myself..) so maybe there is another solution..
Any other suggestions ?

Re: Logic and Totalmix monitor question

Why not deactivating softwaremonitoring in Logic and listen to the input through Totalmix.
Mute the regions already recorded in Logic that you don't want to hear.
