Topic: SL Driver Update-> FF800 Driving me nuts!

My FF 800 Settings window stated I had driver v2.64
Look at RME website -> version 2.64a is available
Download Driver 2.64a and install.

Restart computer -> FF800 host light won't turn off ie MacPro won't see FME FF 800 in preferences

Shut down computer.

Turn on RME FF 800
Turn on MacPro
Red host light won't turn off
System Preferences won't see FF 800

I go to Applications -> try to open FF Settings application and FF mixer -> won't open.

I've also recently been getting weird distortion in Logic 9 if it gets a bit glitchy, need to restart FF800 or sometimes Logic application or reboot Mac to get rid of distortion in audio.

This only happens in Logic.

iTunes FCS3 Safari Firefox DVD Player audio have all good, ie Logic is only program that distorts audio. Now I have nothing.

Any advice on how I can de-install all RME drivers I've ever had so I can maybe start again with most appropriate drivers.

Any ideas welcome

Many thanks

Re: SL Driver Update-> FF800 Driving me nuts!

Sorry for responding to my own post, but, found a previous RME Driver V 2.60a

For the hell of it I just reinstalled that driver.

I've got audio again, Host light is off.

It's working again.

Does anyone else have this kind of issue.

Should I re-attempt to install Driver v2.64a ?

Any thoughts ?

My FF800 is about 18 months old, does that make any diffference ?

Cheers

Try removing the driver before the update.

Re: SL Driver Update-> FF800 Driving me nuts!

Hi, Thanks for that.

Followed the info on that link.

Reinstalled drivers

But, in "About FireFace Settings" I still end up with Kernel Driver v2.64 & Unit# xxxxxxx6 v2.66 (real number not stated in this post)

In Activity Monitor FireFace Mixer & FireFace Settings just show, "Kind" Intel, not -> Intel (64 bit), should it state 64 bit?

Should "About FireFace Settings" state Kernel Driver v2.64a?

Thanks again
