Topic: Clarification regarding Firmware revisions for Mac users

Hi,

I am running a Fireface 800 under Mac OS 10.5.8 and 10.6.1...

The information on the RME download page is a little confusing as it suggests that firmware revision 2.70 be used for Windows users but also only suggests that this revision be used by Mac users with the TCO installed.

I am currently using the latest driver 2.64a and firmware revision 2.47. Should I be using the latest firmware revision 2.70, as I do not have the TCO installed?

Best Regards...

2.70 is a good choice, and the firmware is not platform specific.

Ok, but in the Readme FUT Fireface for Mac there is this:
"Important notes:
This software updates the Fireface 800 firmware to revision 2.70. An installed driver version 2.58 or higher is required.
Revision 2.70 is only required when a TCO is used  with the Fireface 800. Else please use revision 2.47."

It's true: the information on the RME download page is a little confusing as it suggests that firmware revision 2.70 be used for Windows users, but also only suggests that this revision be used by Mac users with the TCO installed.

Now I am currently using my FF800 (without TCO) with the latest driver 2.64a and firmware revision 2.47.
What is the best firmware choice for Mac?

Thanks!

Hi,

Don't worry if everything works fine with FUT 2.47
I use 2.70 since it came out with MAC and PC and
I'm not using TCO and this works fine too.

Re: Clarification regarding Firmware revisions for Mac users

Hello, sorry, but I am here again...
:-)

I am currently using my "old" FF800 (unit #B0610E24, serial number 22393868, without TCO) with the latest driver 2.65 and firmware revision 2.47.
Can I update the FF800 FUT to revision 2.70, or is my FF800 too old for this FUT?
There are risks for my FF800?

Thanks!

Ciao,
Marco
