Topic: New Build Direct Monitoring/ Total Mix Question

Hello there, and thanks in advance for the help.

I am a longtime AES-32 user (2 card pro system).
I have put together a Mobile Laptop Rig using an Alienware m15x and the Fireface UC.

All is well and this Win7 64 machine is great.

I am having one issue in Nuendo 4 (32bit) in that I am not getting the automated control of direct monitoring.

I do Not use the control room function of Nuendo and have direct monitoring checked.

On my other system, I put the track into input and can see the TotalMix fader move when I move the fader in Nuendo

On THIS system I have to manually move the TotalMix inout fader to be able to hear input.... hmmmmm

It seem that nuendo is not speaking to the RME properly.

Any Advice?

Does this sound like an installation mishap?

Did you remember to activate ADM in both Nuendo AND the TotalMix options?

Yes, I have confirmed that it is activated in both.

I noticed this in the Manual:

Fireface UC supports
ASIO Direct Monitoring
(ADM). Please note that
currently Nuendo,
Cubase and Logic either
do not support ADM
completely or error-free.

This doesn't mean that it shouldn't work at all right?

Currently, I MUST use Totalmix directly to do any input monitoring. This is not useful to my way of working which requires Nuendo Direct monitoring with the preference set for "Tapemachine Style".

This is a bit of  a showstopper for me, i am desperate for a solution, so any help at all would be truly appreciated.

ADM does not work correctly in the UC driver. Please stay tuned for a quick update to fix this.

Thank you so much for the response. I was pulling my hair out!
I really appreciate you telling me now, I was about to take drastic action! (reformat and reinstall of everything!)

I will gladly wait patiently for a fix,

Version 0.936 from our website should fix that problem.

I wonder why the Windows driver is still in 0.x state? Anything missing that keeps it from being 1.0?

You are a GEM!!!! I will try it right now.

This is the type of service and support that has kept me a die hard RME user for 6 years now and I have no inclination of ever switching.
I have made several Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum record using RME devices and plan on continuing to do so!
