Topic: FF400 Windows 7 and XP Dual Boot issue

Hi

Be really grateful for some help as just got Windows 7 but cannot use it with FF400 which is very frustrating....

Just installed Windows 7 on a second partition and cannot get FF400 to be recognised. "Found new hardware wizard" does not come up so I cannot follow instructions from this:

My other partition has Windows XP and this works fine so it is nothing to do with the Firewire socket/wire/card or anything like that. I just need a way to make Windows 7 recognise that the Fireface 400 is actually plugged in.

Many thanks.

Re: FF400 Windows 7 and XP Dual Boot issue

OK really strange - went back to Windows XP and FF400 was now not showing there also. I had to force the New Device Wizard (using hdwwiz.exe) and then follow instrudtions as here: http://rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=732

This is fine and now working OK (phew)

So I tried the same method on the Windows 7 partition and this seemed to work for a few moments - I even loaded up my DAW and tried to load a project but it kept changing the sample rate?? and then crashes my entire machine (blue screen of death etc...)

If I boot up without Fireface Windows 7 works fine so there is reall something badly wrong. Does anyone else here have a similar issue with Windows 7? I guess I will just have to stick with XP............

Hi,

Did you tried with BootCamp 3.1 and the OHCI Legacy mode in Windows 7 ?
