Topic: *solution for macpro 2008 bootcamp 3.1 and win 7 (x64) BSOD

Hi,

After 5 crashes after installing the latest bootcamp 3.1 I really cursed my ff400 for crashing my macpro 2008 SOOOO hard.

But,

It turned out to be the driver from apple for HFS+ support.

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp … ;tstart=-1

after installing bootcamp 3.1 and maybe crashing, restart windows 7 in safe mode and rename 2 the driver files in c:\windows\system32

i gave them a .bak extension.

the files are

- applehfs.sys and applemnt.hfs

They are the cause of my bsod. My windows 7 is not crashing anymore ! and my fireface 400 is giving sound.

So your saying you can use Applications like Cubase and you get a solid stream of data from your fireface using Bootcamp 3.1?

Yes ! Although i am using Studio One (32 bits version).

It works perfect ! No problems with my FF400 under bootcamp 3.1 windows 7 ultimate 64 bits

Latest win driver and 1.70 firmware....

Even made my first song yesterday with windows 7 check if you wish www.viktorvos.nl (first song, win machine rest of the songs was done on osx)

I'm not using Cubase, but both ASIO and WDM works with my FF400. Problem with the Bootcamp drivers is still the NVidia driver and the ACPI Battery driver. You need to force the NVidia driver into a fixed 3D performance mode via Rivatuner and deactivate the ACPI Battery via device-manager.

Also, V.Vos, you have a beautiful site, and your music is also very nice smile What are you using to get such a analog feel of warmth to your music?

Hey sp4rx thanks a lot ! Just hobbying :-)

I use an RME Fireface 400 soundcard maybe that is the cause (just kiddin' )

It could be Studio One, I find it has very good sound quality. Also, it flies on my mac pro 2008 8-core. Have not had a shortage of cpu power yet.

Cheers,

Viktor

Does anyone know if this will work with Fusion 3?
