Topic: Are the Lucent Firewire chip incompatibilities still an issue?

As the posts regarding this issue are a bit out of date, I was wondering if there was any update to this issue?

I have a 2009 Mac Mini with the Lucent 5901 (Revision 6) Chipset and am looking at purchasing a FF400. Is this guaranteed to give me problems?

Yes, you need a FireWire repeater cable or hub. See here. Or choose the identical Fireface UC.
